The Photolux Family is Expanding !

Like a true Italian family, we just keep growing :)

Awhile ago, Amanda Cava worked with our team here in Ottawa until she was called away to Toronto. We're happy to announce that she is back with our Photolux family and with her return, she brings some unique tips and tricks she learned while at a high-end, well respected photography company in Toronto.

Amanda is more than excited to begin meeting all of our amazing Ottawa clients and to incorporate some of the unique architecture and culture that Ottawa has to offer into her photos.

Amanda, welcome back !!

We also thought this would be a good time to reintroduce you to our current team (just click on 'team' near the bottom of page after 'destination weddings')..... Gotta admit, it was strange to be on the other side of the camera lens for the photo shoot.

Real Wedding: Crystal and Matt

Our good friends and neighbours at Marry Me Productions have put together a great blog post about a recent 'real wedding' we did with Crystal and Matt. Read their blog post to see some of the shots we captured that afternoon with this wonderful couple.

Congratulations Crystal and Matt !

The 2011 Wedding Season Begins...

The sudden change in weather this week may make it seem like wedding season is about to begin, but believe it or not the team at Photolux have been snapping newly married couples for the last month and a half now.

We're going to be using this blog to feature some of our 'real life' couples from the weddings we've shot. It's much easier to share them with you here than updating our website every few months.

So stay tuned for great photos from the 2011 wedding season... and to all our couples; we are very excited and honoured to capture your wedding memories for you this season.

Here is a sneak peek at what is to come.....

Photolux Wins Best Wedding Album in Ontario and Canada

It’s always fantastic to be recognized for your work but it’s even more rewarding when you are recognized by your peers in the industry. Photolux Studio is happy to announce that we were recently awarded two “best of” awards for one of our wedding albums.

The Professional Photographers of Canada recognized ‘Stefano and Eva’s wedding album as the best wedding album in Canada. According to the PPoC website, the winning album is selected by a panel of judges that bases its decision on overall impact, technical merit, composition and presentation.
The same album was also voted best wedding album in Ontario by the Professional Photographers of Ontario.
Both associations are regarded as the largest and most recognized in Canada and Ontario respectively so we’re honoured they were impressed with our work.

Enough legal mumbo jumbo right? I’m sure you are excited to see this album and we’re happy to share it with you....

Photolux is heading to New Orleans

One of our favourite activities is to travel to conferences around the world to interact with fellow photographers and learn the new trends in the photography industry. It's even better when we're selected as featured speakers at these conferences to share what we've learned with others.

One of our senior photographers, Anthony Cava has been asked to speak at Imaging USA 2012 January 14th and 17th in New Orleans hosted by the Professional Photographers of America .

According to its website, Imaging USA's mission is "to be the first major photographic event of the year that brings together the forward-thinking photographers and business leaders whose ideas spark innovation and change in the industry." The website goes on to explain the conference as "the longest running national photographic convention, expo and image exhibition in the United States, drawing thousands of professionals from around the world. Major components of Imaging USA are the Imaging EXPO trade show, several all-inclusive parties and presentations by some of the biggest names in the photographic industry."

Photolux is honoured to have been chosen as a presenter for this conference. We'll be sure to take some photos of beautiful New Orleans and post them when Ottawa is buried in snow and ice ;)
