There is something so beautiful about this picture. Maybe because of it's layers. It's not just a photo of a bride and her dress. It's an intimate photo taken away from the chaos of the morning of the wedding, in the seconds before our bride Kristen (married July 7 2012) turns from someone's fiance into beautiful bride. Maybe it's because it quietly captures the exact moment that Kristen has been waiting for since she was a little girl. Maybe it's because the angle (peeking through doors) gives you the lucky feeling like you are sharing the moment with Kristen that she thought she had to herself.

Maybe that is why we love this photo.

Is it just us or is everything more romantic at night?

Cynthia and Ian were married in Ottawa on Saturday July 14 2012. They had their ceremony at Notre-Dame Catherdreal and their reception followed at The National Gallery. We convinced Cynthia and Ian to sneak away from their reception at Gallery so we can capture this shot of them- on the steps of the National Gallery with the Notre Dame Catherdreal glowing in the background.
